Worms Reloaded
2010 · Team17
Has it aged?Why ↓
Worms Reloaded is a side-on, turn-based tactics game where you command customisable worms in matches on 2D maps. Its strongest argument is four-player local multiplayer: this is tactical comedy built for sharing a screen, not a military fantasy that needs taking seriously.
Ten years on from Worms™ Armageddon and the turn-based comic mayhem continues in Worms™ Reloaded, an all-new edition available for PC through Steam.

The verdict
Play it for shared-screen tactical comedy, with the map editor and worm customisation giving your group something to make its own. The 2D presentation is no reason to dismiss it; the real test is whether taking turns sounds like entertainment rather than waiting. Choose it for that particular pleasure, not because you need another game to play alone.
Play it if
You enjoy watching other people take their turns, and you like building custom maps for your group to play on. Dressing up worms is part of the appeal, not an interruption to the tactics.
Skip it if
Anyone who needs simultaneous, real-time action. Taking turns is the structure of the game, not a restriction you can switch off.
Common questions
- How many people can play Worms Reloaded on one screen?
- The 2010 release supports up to four players in local multiplayer.
- What did the Team Fortress 2 update add?
- The December 2010 update added five forts, plus hats and gravestones based on Team Fortress 2 classes. Treat it as extra ways to personalise the worms, not a reason to expect a different kind of game.
- Can I give the worms custom voices?
- The December 2010 update added a speech bank editor, allowing players to create and share speech banks for use in the game.
